in your eyes...

aaaahhh, lloyd dobbler on his ghetto blaster. sigh. :)

well, i feel quite encouraged this morning. i have a few requests for my weekly review. and i'm still mentioned on the hour's website. even if my name doesn't look as cool shortened. haha.

in the myspace bullentin before the show, it is mentioned that soon podcasts will be available on strombo.com. haha. this i will believe when i see it. i think strombo. com has been in the works for over two years now.

last nite's show was the one year anniversary of the strombo show. bob didn't know. mr. stroumboulopoulos said he didn't know and didn't care when he was told. kinda like what he said after his last appearance on much music.

bob and mr. stroumboulopoulos talked about how they sound alike (which i tend not to necessarily agree with). it was mentioned that bob's mom gets confused and that mr. stroumboulopoulos' mom does not listen anymore since they used her for a bit. bob talked about perhaps getting mr. stroumboulopoulos into trouble with this fact by saying outrageous statements. mr. stroumboulopoulos said he has had the experience of people coming up to him the next day, and saying 'i can't believe what bob said last nite'. bob uttered the statement 'i hate children' as mr. stroumboulopoulos. mr. stroumboulopoulos then said ' i like mine. by that i mean my nephew. i have no children that i know of". (that quote is for a friend of mine. she will enjoy that.)

they talked about how the radio show got started. bob and mr. stroumboulopoulos had a radio show back about 11 years ago. they decided they wanted to do a show again. tried the cbc. didn't work. mr. stroumboulopoulos was in la and contacted the program director at cfrb and he said when do you want to start, next week? no, you're in la? ok, week after. and the show debuted september 18th, 2005.

there was a mention of sean penn on cnn. he was called ( i believe by mr. stroumboulopoulos) as the man that humour forgot. that made me laugh. i do like sean penn as an actor but he does take himself a tad bit serious.

'celebration' by kool and the gang was played despite bob's expressly stating no kool and the gang.

there was a spot on this day in history. this day was the day that the doors played the ed sullivan show and performed 'light my fire'. they were asked to change the line ' get much higher'. jim morrison agreed pre-show but performed the line as is on the live broadcast. that's true rock n' roll. not like that wimp mick jagger who changed the line from 'let's spend the night together' to 'let's spend some time together'. i'm glad that story was told. it makes me happy hearing stories that portray mick jagger in a bad way.

the shins 'new slang' from garden state was played. there was talk on movies you don't see ie.. mr. stroumboulopoulos refuses to see 'titanic'. but he did finally see 'garden state' on dvd. this brought on a discussion of zach braff. bob called him a slacker woody allen. mr. stroumboulopoulos called him geekishly good looking. bob not a fan of zach braff. mr. stroumboulopoulos defended him. say anything and lloyd dobbler were mentioned.

alex, who's been on the show before, joins the broadcast.

the sean penn smoking thing was discussed.

TIFF was discussed. mr. stroumboulopoulos talked about how his cats pissed at the bottom of the stairs because he had been gone so much and the kitty litter was not clean. he interviewed viggo mortensen for the upcoming season of the hour. he talked about the lotr and how he hasn't read the books (finally, someone else who hasn't) and doesn't care. he seemed more impressed with the fact that viggo's baby mamma is exene cervenka (i believe they were married as well...pause for quick imdb check..wow, according to that they were married for over ten years) and called her one of the most influential women in punk ( i think). and according to wikipedia, viggo's a huge habs fan. i wonder if they discussed that.

hmmm, i just noticed that they went to commerical break asking what u2, green day and natural disasters had in common but i don't recall them coming back with the answer. it is of course, the benefit song they will be recording for music rising, an organization that replaces instruments lost by musicians in the wake of hurricane katrina.

flip to myspace and some comments. i will quote one directly here from blueflamegirl666

my friends always say.. movie life - lloyd dobbler is the perfect boyfriend real life - lloyd dobbler is a potential stalker..

that got a good work comment and some jokes about the name. according to bob, it is the world's fastest car in the guiness book of world records. mr. stroumboulopoulos had some other gutter reference in mind.

alex apparently had a crush on bec from myspace.

more embarrassing moments from bob this week. he's a huge fan of broken social scene and he was talking to the drummer and mentioned the band he was in (glueleg). the drummer said 'yah, i wasn't in to them'. and then went on to say ' did i really blow you up when i said that?'. haha.. poor bob.

bob then told the story of how he fell asleep at the penelope cruz movie. i forget the name of it and since i don't like her, i chose not to look up the name of it. he was pinching his thigh, his wife was hammering him and he still kept falling asleep. i liked the part where he said when he woke up, he had that kind of panic, what did i do in my sleep thought?

and then he told the story of how he went to the borat re-screening and poured coffe down his chest and it was so hot it was like tobagganing on a gravel road. too freakin' funny.

jimi hendrix was brought up as sept. 18th is the anniversary of his death. mr. stroumboulopoulos told a story about how jimi hendrix was alive when the paramedics came and they sat him up, instead of lying him down, causing him to choke on his own vomit when he threw up.

some new stuff for the hour was discussed. the maple leafs are going to shoot pucks at mr. stroumboulopoulos in goal. there was some debate on whether or not that was supposed to be a surprise for the viewers or not. bob mentioned that in a meeting without mr. stroumboulopoulos' participation, that it was discussed how the leafs were not supposed to take it easy, but to really go for it. mr. stroumboulopoulos agreed that was how it should be. he also said he would dress in a habs uniform.

9.11 was discussed. speficially george bush's speech and how jon stewart tore it apart on the daily show. a little comedy bit was played as well.

they talked about how it was determined that the arcade fire's 'wake up' would appear on the show every week. it was after they saw u2 in montreal and the arcade fire opened up in front of the hometown crowd. afterwards, u2 came out onstage to 'wake up' . bob and mr. stroumboulopoulos' eyes welled up.

TV was brought up. there was a joke about it being transvestites. which brought up the term BFF. which made me laugh. they talked about tv being more violent according to some parental organization in the states. i did really appreciate the point that mr. stroumboulopoulos made about the brutalization of women and all the rape scenes on tv. bob is excited by grey's anatomy this year. mr. stroumboulopoulos has dated skanky women as per desperate housewives.

the advice calls were a girl whose boyfriend's mother had walked in on them, while her boyfriend was handcuffed to the bed. and she just left the breakfast there without making a scene. there was no problem here. mr. stroumboulopoulos said that his mother couldn't even comprend him having sex.

the other call was about someone going to meet their ex, drinking too much, passing out from hypoglycemia and having to be put in a cab by co-workers.

they talked to olivia from toronto life who is doing a piece on mr. stroumboulopoulos. it will apparently be a six or eight piece spread.

bob gets straight edge confused with malcom x and thinks mr. stroumboulopoulos doesn't eat pork.

comedy is russell peters. who makes me laugh. :)

surprise for bob is a phone in with k'naan who is about to go see a tribe called quest. i need to track down his album. also interesting was the fact that he might be putting out a poetry book.

bob likes a bank robber in greece who dresses as a ninja.

whew. the end.

haha you all are funny. i could claim to have a mind like a steel trap but i will confess. i take really odd, almost illegible notes during the show.

but because you have asked the question, it suddenly occured to me this morning, i should be doing the notes on computer while i listen to the show. then it would be way easier to do the after show blog. i mean, i'm sitting at the computer anyways.

i did do a bit of a longer recap this time as a couple of you had stated you missed the show. a lot of the time, i just recap the parts i liked..:)

Now here is a shoe-in for the list of the year's best gaming-related clothing : Adidas has brought back its ZX five hundred running shoe, and, since it originally comes from the '80s, the gaming electrified design and coloring is a simple choice ... Right? The kicks won't be the coolest part of the deal, either ; they come packed with a combination bracelet/USB flashdrive containing ZX Runner, a computer game primarily based on ... The shoe itself.

GameCulture writes that the game stars a personality named'DJ Zed' who, according to Adidas, has five minutes to'run, moon-walk, climb walls, avoid some dodgy-looking bullies, collect power-ups, and pull off mad rooftop-to-rooftop stunts' in order to get on-stage before his set starts. It's suitably retro -- see for yourself in the video we've included after the breakdance.

Add to that the question of whether or not these free chips are being offered by honest online casinos, and we enter an area worth some study or serious research.

But the best indicator of an honest online casino is by personal recommendation. This also includes affiliation of such casinos into trusted casino websites and portals. If an offer of free casino chips is made by an online casino on such a site then it can probably be trusted.
Do you want to know how to take the maximum advantage of the bonuses and promotions that the different online casinos offer? onlinecasinos5.com spills the secrets of exactly how you can do it! A case study released by onlinecasinos5.com showed the following scenario that utilizes the optimal strategy to leverage your casino deposit to your advantage. This technique will work on ALL online casinos not just onlinecasinos5.com. This is what happened with an "ideal" client in this case study:

Casino slots, blackjack, roulette, and other casino games are a relaxing way to unwind after a day of work. You may choose to open an account with a specific online casino operator. Some online gaming sites offer bonus dollars into your account upon sign-up. Many have 24/7 virtual support to help you understand their site and all it offers the player. Do you have a competitive streak? Do you want to match yourself up against other players? Many online casinos offer casino slots and table game tournaments. Enjoy the competition from your own home while in your pajamas. Try getting away with that in Vegas or Atlantic City, or anywhere else.

Beginner's Route to Online Casinos
The online casinos are a great source of entertainment and fun. That said, there are a number of things you should take into consideration before playing. Choosing the right casino should be your first step in your quest for a great gaming experience online. As such, choosing the right casino will lead you to have a lot of fun and also win at the same time. If you find yourself with a pathetic online casino, you are bound to run into a lot of problems with poor graphics low-wage outs.

3. A whole lot of people visit traditional casinos and yet end up playing only the slot games because they are so simple and they stay away from the games that give the real thrills and spills. When you play on an online casino all the rules of all the games are bang in front of you, and all you have to do is read them and start playing whatever you like!
