i collect christmas music. the good, the bad and the ugly. i don't discriminate. and for years now, i have made a crazy ass christmas tape for my friends. and until last year, it was a tape. not a cd.
i finally made the switch to cd last year. the reason i held off for so long was because i really enjoyed working with the format of the tape. two sides. the tape evolved early on into a good/bad side. the good side, was guarenteed to be family friendly. you could play it with kids or grandparents present. the bad side, well, you took your chances. plus a lot of my cool xmas tunes are actually on vinyl. and i am not sure how to convert vinyl into mp3's.
since last year was the first on cd, i made a two cd set. a kind of best of you could say. one good, one bad. however, that was a one shot deal. i am still strugging with how i will do the break down on one cd. but that is this weekend's project.
i'm feeling festive so if anyone is interested in this project, let me know.

Man, I would love a way to transfer my vinyl into CD's. I have the best album of Telemann flute music ever made and there is no way I could ever part with my record player while it still has some life in it. Ok my geek factor probably just went up ten- fold.
I love how you do a take your chances section! This year you could do the first set of tracks as the good and then have a warning song to let people know if grandma's in the room change CD's NOW!
Hey by the way I think my notes are a bust. I was obviously in some snarky mood last Sunday once I found out Alex not on. My notes are kind of mean. I'm not sure I would want anyone to read them!
i think it's fairly easy to do, i just haven't gotten around to it.
i love vinyl.
i think i know how i will do the good/bad situation. it's just a matter of planning now.
haha.. mean notes. let's hope alex is better for sunday!
My all time favourite christmas album is on vinyl, its Alvin and the Chipmunks...I know, I know. But I love it!
Other than that, I really don't care for holiday tunes. Mellowlee made the best punk rock christmas cd, and that now makes my list.
I'm asking for a record player for the holidays. Wishful thinking.
I love the idea of your old good side bad side format!!!! Could u post the playlists for the best of that you did last year? So cool. I love Christmas songs :)
Hey, I second Mellowlee's request for a posting of last year's list!
allison - i put that on my tape one year! drove my friends crazy.
will do a posting tonight
