vancouver's los caminos opened. they play instrumental surf rock. they were good, but not really my thing to see live.
while we were waiting, the singer from the smokin' 45s started handing out t-shirts. cool ones. well, to be honest, he started throwing out shirts. my friend and i each caught one. then we felt bad because we had to ask if we could exchange them. i mean, we were flattered he thought we were that tiny, but....
we bought cds after the show. five bucks! how cool is that? and i loved the fact that when i was buying them, the singer introduced himself to me.
it's too bad there weren't more people at the show. but those of us that did show up, had a good time.
the last bad was six pack jacket. rockabilly with more of a punk edge.
my brain isn't really working that well today and i'm having trouble writing. let's just say i had a good time at the show, i loved the smokin' 45s, and if you like rockabilly you should buy the cd.
it was even worth some drunk skanky chick kickin' me in the stomach while she was trying to dance. and i'm totally glad i skipped out on a mini-reunion of sorts.
and here it is, your new music tuesday track.
smokin' 45s - small doses
have a good week everyone!

Some drunk chick kicked you in the stomach, while trying to dance? I'm trying to picture that.
Sounds like a great show. I will come back later to listen to the tune, work prohibts such downloading. Buggers.
and i was on the way to the bathroom at the time! not the ideal time for more pressure on my bladder.
stupid work. :)
Sounds like a lot of fun, I like it when people from a band introduce themselves while you are being cds or whatever they sell, it's really nice.
This post really makes me want to go to a show, it's been too long since the last time I went to one!
I love when a band works their own merch table too - they are usually always so sweet and eager to talk.
evelyne - me too. he seemed really nice as well. he said goodbye when we left as well.
barbara - i had a conversation with one of the guys from ok go about vinyl a few years back when they opened for the kaiser chiefs (i think). very nice and i will always have a soft spot for them now.
