****update - i think i have solved the photo problem.*****
one of the things i like about the blogging world is that i'm constantly remembering things that i've forgotten.
like reading dale's post reminded me of a long conversation i had at work years ago. one of the nice things about working retail is you spend a lot more time talking to the people you work with. you really get to know them much more than in an office situation. dale reminded me of a long conversation i had once about how there needed to be more xylophones in rock music and that a tribute album really needed to be done. dale, i don't know what happened to my dream!
'goober' and my xmas ornaments are teaming up to kill me. here is my version of the events. just in case, something "happens" to me. last sunday, i am walking in my house. the path is clear. suddenly, 'goober' appears and pushes a box of ornaments in front of me. i trip. i am in pain. my ankle is killing me. i think nothing of it.
however, as the week progresses, my ankle still hurts. i take a look at it mid-week, and i can see it started to bruise. and on friday, it hurts so much, i decide to have a little soak in the bath and i see that my ankle is turning many colours. purple, brown, black, blue, yellow. bad 'goober! bad 'goober'!
today it seems to have stopped adding any additional colours. and the pain is beginning to subside.
i leave you with a series of photos. i think i will call it... 'goober' - a study in snow.

The pictures are tiny empty boxes on my screen. Very artful though. ;)
I hope your ankle heals quickly! At least its stopped adding colours.
I was out dancing this week and a drunken stiletto wearing person ripped through my boot and sliced into my foot. So I am rocking the multi-coloured bruise too. She too should be wearing one too 'bout now. On her face.
Yeah, I can't see your photos, either...
Who cares about photos when you could realize your potential by getting back to work on that Xylophone tribute album? I'm available for backup on the triangle, cowbell, tambourine or toy piano. I'm just that talented!
Colourful ankle sounds bad to me... I've seen too many of them on my little sister recently, but I remember that when it stops adding colours, it's a good sign.
Those pictures of Goober are nice, he seems to love to play with snow.
When I was a kid, I could play Jingle Bells on the Zylophone. What a child prodigy...well, not so much. It came with a colour coded songbook.
Hmmm. I'm glad I am not the only one who can't see the Goober shots. I thought it was a problem on my end.
Did you soak the appendage in Epsom salts?
how very weird about the photos. hopefully i have fixed the problem now.
allison - you make me snort.
dale - you're on!
evelyne - thanks. he loves the snow.
steph - i am jealous.
not yet. i think it's healing. it doesn't throb this morning.
I LOVE THE PHOTOS. :) Right now it is snowing way too hard to take the camera out. It's like a sheet of white when one steps out the door. Snickers loves it. He goes out black & tan and returns white!
Sadly my zylophone career was short lived, as I was forced into playing the violin in elementary school. Looking back, I would have been so much better with a percussion instrument.
Awwww, look at Goober's cute little face! I canbot believe he would do harm to anybody, so while I am sorry that you harmed your ankle, I'm taking his side.
Hope you're better soon.
And Al, love how you punch first, ask questions later.
that's his protection barb, keeps him off the street, that cute face of his.
That doggy needs to be on our album!
Goober's adorable & I hope your ankle feels better & is less colorful soon.
dale - will start training him on the xylophone!
thanks chick.
