lite-brite, makin' things with light...

welcome to random friday. i know it's saturday, but i got home late last night.

yesterday was apparently do not use your turn signal today. or at the very least, do not use your turn signal until you are at least halfway into my lane. um, buddy, at that point, i kinda figured out you were coming in.

i saw this sports car all macked out with rear spoilers etc. but it was pink! who buys a pink sports car?

my brother went away for a week and bought me nothing. the dog however, got a really expensive tie out stake for the yard, a postcard and some really expensive dog snacks. speaking of which, we have found out what he does when we are not home.

apparently "goober" has been running his own business. they are, of course, peanut butter flavoured.

this is the outside of this crazy ass mcdonald's i went to yesterday. the drive thru has two lanes! i didn't eat there, just went inside to use their facilities. inside, it looks more like a starbucks than a mcdonald's. fancy lighting and leather arm chairs. well, to be honest, they could be faux leather. people were sitting in them and i didn't think i should go up and ask if i could caress their chairs to find out. oh, and speaking of incorrect furniture moves ...

i found this on snopes, which is one of my favourite sites. you can read all about it here.

here is a sign i enjoy. these are posted in coquitlam parks.

i saw this in the latest starbucks ad. i really liked it. 'friends let you stay for the credits'.

here is my friday random top ten for this week.

  1. blood on our hands – death from above 1979 (i love, love, love this song. especially right now. i was so happy when it started off the rotation)
  2. nausea – beck (i remain conflicted about beck. and yes, it's that whole scientology thing)
  3. how deep is your love – take that (hahahahaha, it's true. my guilty pleasure is boy bands from england. good times.)
  4. drown –son volt
  5. hallelujah – willie nelson
  6. planet of sound (live) – pixies ( i heart pixies)
  7. cold hard bitch [live] – jet. (interesting, two live songs in a row. i think my player is saying go see more concerts. i saw jet a few years ago in concert at the commodore. there was so many australians there, the joke was "who is working at whistler right now?"
  8. flying high again – sloan ( i have a weird gay porn fetish thing with sloan.)
  9. here i dreamt i was an architect – the decemberists (this is the first song i ever heard by them. i got it on this really cool portland sampler i bought in portland a few years ago from q is for choir, a communist record store)
  10. passing afternoon – iron & wine
have a good weekend everyone!

Goober is famous! Hope he's starting to help out with rent. Too funny about Goober getting all the gifts.

I am thoroughly enjoying your random posts about this and that. Don't stop.

Well, I am off to check out the link you posted.

trust me, we are going to have a little chat about rent and his cookie bills later on tonight. :)

wooo hoo! i have a hit segment! i am enjoying random posts as well. i find so much weird little things amuse me during the week, it's the best way to let me out.

the snopes site is addictive. at least for me.

Yes, I can see where that snopes site can be addictive. I have already read a lot of entries within the different urban legends.

Have you been listening to the Strombo show lately? I have not listened in such a long time. I was wondering if tomorrow is live. I think I should be around for it.

i am skipping out on a family dinner tomorrow so i should be around for the show tomorrow.

Playboy bunnies drive pink sports cars. I saw this once in LA. We were on the side of the road with a flat tire, and she stopped to ask for directions. I was too stunned to speak as the pink and the flashy tire rims were blinding.

Our McDonalds drive thru looks like that here.

I love that sign you saw in the park! Well, starbucks got something right, I will grant them this one thing :)

Hope your weekend is going well!

Who knew that rats say "bwa ha ha"? They are obviously more clever and more evil than we realised.

Sometimes the credits are the best part of the film.

that sign reminds me of the secret of Nihm LOL!

"CLICK ON SAID LINK!" I can't take her. Bob is not enough to overide how her voice which is like nails scraping a chalkboard sending electric bolts down my spine.

mel - i've never seen it.

toccata - i just signed on. what's up with the link?

Toccata said...

Haha, if you just signed on you will have no idea what the heck I was talking about! That is a direct quote by Hillary about nothing and I put it in caps because that is how she talks. It was at that point that my body started screaming, "No, no get her off!"

668 aka neighbour of the beast said...

i'm surprised you are still listening!

allison - wow, who knew? of course, mary kay has pink cars, but it was not a mary kay car.

is your mcdonalds fancy inside as well?

so far so good! hope yours is well.

barbara - one day, rats will rule the world.

i love credits.

668, oh believe me I am not. I ditched out in the first five minutes. Man, this radio program used to be my guilty pleasure of the week but sadly no more. I least I still have my blogland.

toccata - ah that makes sense.

the show really hasn't been strong since last year.

Maybe I'm just a cynical bitch but I get the feeling George just wants to live in California. Everytime I turn around that's where he is. He is going to have to start working harder at the jobs he does have in Canada or he's going to find himself without one.

One reason why I love Rick Mercer so much. He is not afraid to show his love for this country or his job.

Ok my rant is done. I will give you back your comment space!

hmm, i'm not so sure about that. i think the push to get 'the hour' to wherever it is supposed to be is leading this l.a. thing. which is one of the reasons why i don't enjoy 'the hour' like i used to.

but i do agree with you on rick mercer. i even love rick's pushing of the military. because that's part of being from the martimes i find.

rant all you want baby!

Toccata said...

Hmm back. I hadn't thought of the hour being the instigator behind the whole l.a. thing. Too bad they didn't just leave well enough alone. That show used to be awesome.
