oh, what a feeling...

before i get into my post, i'd just like to state...it's freakin' snowing here. huge flakes.

ok, on with my post.

as some of you may or may not know, i am in the process of listening to every single one of my cds (in reverse chronological order, sorta). i'm living the year 1996 right now. on my recent solo drive down to the states, i decided to listen to a four cd box set of canadian music.

here is what i learnt.

1. four cds, 77 record company picked songs is too much can con to listen to in a row.
2. some songs get funnier as time goes by. loverboy never does.
3. i own 'new orleans is sinking' by the tragically hip and 'try' by blue rodeo. two songs that have been on my wish list for ages.

Yowza - I see what you mean. I checked out the track listing and feel like I just quaffed a litre of maple syrup or something.

i had made a tape of the best of volume one and two so i had forgotten how much the rest of it, was, well, can-con. :)

LOL @ 'quaffed a litre of maple syrup'!

Will I be shuned if I admit to not owning any Hip records? I'm listening to the cbc radio 3 now though, getting my fill on can con in :)

allison - i'm not a hip fan. i wasn't going to say that i don't own any albums by them, but then i remember i have their first ep.

i think perhaps on cbc you may be getting some quality can con. :)

What a project. I don't know if I could listen to everything I own, yet I keep buying more. Go figure.

i don't think i fully understood what a project it was until i was already in the midst of it. by then it was too late.

originally it started because i felt the need to purge some cds.

How did you do, on those 4 cds there seem to be a couple good songs, but you're brave! There's even Céline Dion and Roch Voisine, i don't know if i could listen to that cd!

Oh man, all I can say is I wish I had not read what was on Disc 1. Now I have that stupid, stupid Parachute Club singing in my head!

I think I need to try and listen to all my CD's before I buy any new. Who's kidding who, I'd never make it.

evelyne - it was tough. really tough. especially that disc with celine and roch.

toccata - omg, i hate that parachute club song so much.

the project would be a lot easier if i could stop getting new music. but i'm an addict.

mellowlee - it's funny. it never ever occured to me that i would have those songs.
